A New York appeals court has ruled that a Harlem bodega worker who pleaded guilty in 2001 of crack cocaine possession can argue for a new trial.

Isn't so interesting what he did as how messed up the trial was. They prosecuted random bystanders then first failed to install a functional defense lawyer - later refused his rights to have one. Meanwhile he was instructed to plea guilty because he would only get 3 years minimal in stead of 10 years. So they not just locked him away without trial but they also forced him to plea guilty.
