Sonic Dynamics is developing technology that uses sound waves as a catalyst for converting ambient heat energy into kinetic and/or electrical energy. A sonic oscillator produces sound waves at particular frequencies on one side of a barrier to cause movement of air and a reduction in the ambient pressure near the barrier. The difference in pressure on opposite sides of the barrier results in net positive thrust on the barrier, generating movement, which can be harnessed for its kinetic and electrical energy.
