Google considers moving to boats

Google is considering moving its supercomputers, which run the internet, to a fleet of barges anchored offshore. The "water-based data centres" could save Google millions in property taxes and increase the company's green credentials by using wave power to cool the vast network of computer servers. A patent application filed in America states: "Computing centres are located on a ship or ships, anchored in a water body from which energy from natural motion of the water may be captured, and turned into electricity and/or pumping power for cooling pumps to carry heat away."
