I think Microsoft realized this a long time ago and saw Google as very vital competitor, going to destroy the MS Office and OS monopoly. If people can post blogs, make them private to certain people and have them printed, what would stop them to switching to blogs where the content is always available from everywhere and to anyone?
Too powerful combination, I believe.
Gaby's idea is great. It's following the trend - giving to the masses what before was available only to the big corporations - publishing, movie making, audio broadcast, programming producing. Soon or later the power will go back to the "people" and they will shape the news, the media and the trends.
